Phytec America

In early 2008, Phytec America brought Freelock on to maintain its Linux server systems and add an additional server. We configured a new server as an internal mail and file server, and converted their old one to become a backup server. We also created a disaster recovery plan, and provided mail relaying services to pre-filter viruses and the worst of the spam.

In January 2009, after three power outages in one weekend, their new server ended up with unrecoverable disk corruption. Gino went onsite and restored from the backups on bare metal, using the disaster recovery plan we created a year earlier. Aside from the outage/loss of service during the recovery period, there was no loss of data.

Customer Feedback

I recommend you use Linux for your server(s). Mine are so reliable, it shocked me that after years of Microsoft-based expectations, I have no complaints now after many many years experience with Linux servers supporting a mixed Win2K and Apple OSX workstation network. Freelock has really opened my eyes to what I should be expecting from enterprise software. Linux is simply much better than anything Microsoft has done, and even on Microsoft's best day, Microsoft is too expensive, too proprietary and too unreliable. There is just no reason to keep putting ourself through that grief, constant change, and endless high cost.
