LedgerSMB is a double-entry enterprise accounting system meant for small and medium-sized business. We've been using it at Freelock since day 1, and over that time we have seen it mature into a very solid platform for managing your books. As a financial system, it is set up with quite a bit stricter access controls, with separation of duties, permissions enforced at the database level, and more.
LedgerSMB aims to be the best GAAP-based accounting system available anywhere, and it's well on its way. We have built integrations to synchronize client data between LedgerSMB and our other business systems, and we would be happy to deploy and manage LedgerSMB for your business too.
