At Freelock, we provide targeted, semi-managed hosting of Linux-based web applications to help ensure that your website stays secure and online. We lease our own dedicated servers, both physical and virtual, and have full control over the OS and all the software, including your applications. This allows us to fully support everything above the hardware layer to an extent that few other companies do.
Some hosting companies have their own data centers, and provide either leased hardware or shared hosting of one level or another. These companies generally cannot support the applications you run, such as Drupal or Joomla. Therefore, their responsibility ends at keeping the web server running, not your site.
Other hosting companies attempt to provide similar services to us by using a reseller account on one of the larger hosts, and can generally help you with your application, but cannot support the underlying operating system, server software, or hardware.
Our goal is to provide a managed environment for every open source or custom software application that we support. We continuously update the software on our servers, including Drupal modules, so that all sites that are active remain secure.
