AI has made software dramatically cheaper and faster to create. But somebody still has to understand it, patch it, test it, and keep it running eighteen months from now.

We started maintaining KSER’s Drupal 5 site in 2013, even though Drupal 5 had already reached end-of-life. For more than a decade, we kept it secure, stable, and useful while the station put its resources where they mattered most.

Now KSER has a new home on Drupal 11 and Drupal CMS, with Drupal Canvas for easier content management and a persistent audio player that keeps the station streaming while visitors move through the site.

Sometimes the right answer isn’t “rebuild now.” It’s maintain what you have well, then replace it when the time is right.

Parse out names, addresses, complex fields using AI

We've had several clients working with memberships, who have a single name field with the full name of a person. And then they ask us to build a directory that is sorted by last name. This is a bit hard to do if there's a first name in front of it!

Names don't follow rules very well. Some have apostrophes in them, some have multiple words -- you can't just take the last word of a name and assume that's the last name, because often it just isn't.
