I am addicted to solving problems. Since learning to read music at age 6, Iāve lived for the days when I can hammer away at a new song. As a Calculus tutor in college, I spent my downtime solving practice problems for fun. Now, I solve technical problems as a Software Developer/Project Manager. When Iām done, I solve them again - even better!
My first career in veterinary medicine was educational and fun (I mean, you do get to pet dogs all day), but I never quite felt the rush that I get from music, math, and coding. I am ecstatic to spend the rest of my life doing what I love - riding the twin thrills of learning new skills and solving complex problems every day!
What I like even more than that fist-pumping feeling of fixing a bug is the experience of going through it with friends. I am talented at identifying peopleās strengths and encouraging my teammates to use theirs to their best advantage. I strive to support others by valuing their humanity and experiences above all else.
Many years in high-stress environments (vet hospitals i.e. life or death situations) have taught me to keep a cool head under pressure. I accomplish that by staying impeccably organized. As I like to say, āI project-manage my life.ā The proof is in my 13 color-coded Google Calendars. š
